Welcome Home SIS is offering summer internships for students to work alongside the Executive Director and Resident Manager helping to ensure female residents in our program are afforded a seamless transition back into the community. A main task is to assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive support plan with a focus on family reunification, long-term housing, maintenance of sobriety, and ultimate self-sufficiency.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Someone who is compassionate, has a great attitude, is friendly, enjoys working with a small team, has great listening and communication skills, basic computer knowledge, is organized, self-motivated, responsible, reliable, and can multitask.

Students with a background or interest in psychology, criminal justice, and social work are given priority. However, all fields/disciplines are encouraged to apply. 

Knowledge of the addiction/recovery process or lived experience is preferred but not required.

ABILITY TO:

·         Interact professionally and effectively with peers, supervisors and the public

·         Follow oral and written instructions

·         Effectively communicate verbally and in writing

·         Read and write at a level required for successful job performance

·         Operate standard business computer hardware, mobile devices, and related software applications

·         Motivate residents while also displaying patience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, some or all of the following:

• Participate in brainstorms and team meetings to share ideas and develop concepts

• Work collaboratively with team

• Performs a variety of functions associated with events and programs including but not limited to logistics, communications, and production of collateral materials

• Create social media content calendars

• Program and schedule social media content

• Analyze and track social media analytics

• Conduct research on an add needed basis

• Administrative work as needed

• Help with the creation of email campaigns

• Assist with planning fundraisers and events

• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Social media platforms, posting and interacting including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube

• Graphic design skills using an application like Canva, or others

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite

• Public relations, marketing or communication degree/career interest

ABILITY TO:
