  • Angela Regan, M.A. LJC

    FOUNDER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Angela founded Welcome Home SIS as her heart blazes with an undying passion for serving the most vulnerable populations and helping women get back on their feet. Formerly incarcerated herself, Angela struggled with drugs and alcohol for nearly two decades before giving her life to Christ.

Angela holds a dual M.A. in both Law, Justice & Culture, and Sociology from Ohio University. Her Master’s Research Essay was entitled “Law as a Shapeshifter: An Exploration of Female Prisoner Narratives and the Retraumatization of Incarceration.” Her Master’s Thesis was based on her findings from a three-year study on collegiate recovery programs and was titled: Student by Day, Recovering Addict for Life: A Qualitative Study on Balancing Recovery and College Life.

While earning her Bachelors in Psychology at Ohio University, Angela’s interest in wrongful convictions led her to a double major in Sociology-Criminology, where she focused on reentry and judicial approaches to defendants.

Angela is a trained Crisis Counselor, a certified Peer Recovery Supporter, and is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant.

Before dedicating her life to Welcome Home SIS full time, Angela taught Sociology for three years at Hocking College and was a Research Specialist for the Small Business Development Center at Ohio University.
